This studio collects very little. There is no analytics on this website, no tracking, and no cookies. The only personal data we hold is what you send us when you make contact — and this page sets out exactly what happens to it.

Who is responsible for your data

What this website collects
Nothing automatically. There is no analytics package, no tag manager, no advertising pixel and no third-party embed on this site. Typefaces are served from our own domain rather than fetched from a font provider, so loading a page does not disclose your visit to anyone else.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — IP address, timestamp, the page requested, and the browser's user agent — which exist to keep the site running and secure. We do not use them to build any profile of you.
What you send us
There is no form on this site. Contact runs through email and telephone, so the data we hold is whatever you choose to put in your message: usually a name, an email address or phone number, the name of your organisation, and a description of the work you are considering.
We use it to answer you, to prepare a proposal, and — if we go on to work together — to run the project and invoice for it. We do not sell it, share it for marketing, or add you to a mailing list you did not ask for.
Why we are allowed to hold it
For an enquiry that has not become a project, our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you contacted a design studio and expect a reply. For live projects it is performance of a contract. For invoices, receipts and anything else HMRC expects a company to keep, it is legal obligation.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted within twelve months. Project correspondence is kept for the life of the engagement and for six years afterwards, which matches the period we may need it for tax and contractual purposes. Accounting records are kept for six years from the end of the financial year they relate to, as company law requires.
Who else sees it
Our email is hosted by a third-party provider, and messages you send therefore pass through and are stored on their systems. Our website is hosted by Vercel. Where a project requires it, we may use a hosting or domain provider on your behalf — we will name them before anything is set up.
Beyond that, no one. We do not transfer client data to advertisers, data brokers or analytics companies, because we do not use any.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, ask us to restrict what we do with it, object to us holding it on legitimate interests grounds, and ask for a copy in a portable format. Write to info@spicerdesigns.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection. We would rather you raised it with us first so we have the chance to put it right.
